JULIA P. AMES

My career in Graphic Design and Illustration has been very fulfilling. I've designed everything from posters and collateral for festivals and events to corporate reports and magazines–as well as websites.

 

From early studies in painting and drawing, I developed a love for design. As a student at the University of Idaho, I studied painting and drawing. I continued studies in  painting at the Ottawa School of Art, before graduating with an Associate degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at Algonquin College in Ottawa. I furthered my studies with courses at Ontario College of Art and Design and various technology workshops.  In Nassau, I returned to my original love of figure drawing with classes at Popopstudios and have continued with local classes in Moscow, Idaho.

 

I have had a long-standing interest in theater and the arts and enjoy promoting concerts and festivals. I helped launch the first Shakespeare in Paradise theatre festival in Nassau, Bahamas by  designing the printed and online promotional collateral. From 2009 to the 2015 I selected artists for the Shakespeare in Paradise (Nassau) Young Artists Program and art directed their poster art to promote the shows of each festival.
